The Mexican American Bar Association provides a forum and a means for lawyers to promote the social, economic, political and educational advancement of the people of this community; and to serve the Mexican American community as a professional association by providing legal services, assistance and advice on matters of concern to the community, to encourage respect for the judicial system by rewarding and commending those who persist in the pursuit of fairness, justice and equality and by vigilantly guarding the rights of those who the system would oppress; to work through legislation, advocacy and education to accomplish these goals.

Due to the COVID-19 circumstance, the dates regarding application deadlines and the scholarship ceremony have changed and will be updated in order to accommodate students. If you or someone you know is interested in applying, please proceed with the current application and stay tuned or contact MABA for future deadlines and important dates. The April dates no longer apply but please complete the application as soon as possible.
MABA San Antonio is passionate about giving back to the community. Our annual Pete Torres, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund has become the signature charitable program for MABA. In May of 2019, MABA awarded 20 outstanding and deserving students with scholarships. We thank our MABA members and sponsors for making this scholarship program possible.

Is Equal = Equal?
Join MABA's April Speaker, Attorney Eduardo Juarez, as he discusses his experience at the United States Supreme Court when it heard a trio of cases regarding employment discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. The Supreme Court is expected to make its ruling by June 2020.
